We are seeing an ever-growing variety of stunning summerhouses, bars and quirky man caves, but this garden space has made its way to the top of our list. Our customer has transformed an A320 fuselage cut into an incredible garden office – pretty stunning eh?
We specialise in disassembling end-of-life aircraft, recycling over 93% of material and so this beautifully up cycled garden pod gets a big thumbs up from us.
These robust and well-insulated pods contain authentic aircraft interior and can be cut to a range of sizes, making each and every one completely unique to your outdoor space. Got a question? Get in touch!
The Aviation industry witnessed a big change as British Airways was forced to bring forward the retirement of its 747 fleet as a consequence of the coronavirus pandemic. The Queen of the Skies quickly became an icon, loved by flyers all over the world for decades, and has flown more than 3.5 billion people – almost half of the world’s population! We have dismantled an impressive total of 17 Boeing 747s, and yesterday we began our final B747, G-BYGD, disassembly.
Aircraft Type: Boeing 747-400
Airline: British Airways
Delivered: Jan 1999
Age: 22.7 years
Be sure to follow G-BYGDs final moments on our social media pages as we bring you on-board our final 747 journey:
G-BYGC is a much loved British Airways Boeing 747, famously known for her iconic BOAC (1964-1974) retro livery redesign in Feb 2019. The Plane Reclaimers team were thrilled to welcome her at our St Athan site on the 11th December 2020. She was the final British Airways Boeing 747 to fly, and unlike many other aircraft we see here, will be preserved and open to the public at some point next year.
We are offering one lucky person the chance to win an exclusive tour of the much loved and iconic BOAC 747, at our St Athan facility. This two hour tour will allow you, and a plus one, to experience the true beauty of this aircraft behind the scenes, where the photo opportunities are endless!
To enter, just head on over to our BOAC competition page for further details. The winner will announced on 01.10.21 at 12pm via live stream on our Instagram page @PlaneReclaimers as well as contacted via email. Good luck!
A new vision. The final B777-200 tail shot of the “Mile High Mural Project” by Welsh artist, Jim Vision.
Take in the first few shots of this B777’s new hand-painted livery: a depiction of a female Celtic spirit warrior, a personification of natural phenomena and a tribute to the 50 million miles this airliner has covered in her lifetime.
The Plane Reclaimers team are super excited to be working with Welsh artist, Jim Vision, for the second time here at St Athan. Jim proves his art has no limits as he takes on the incredible challenge of painting a giant Boeing 777-200 tail, at an impressive height of over 60 feet!
A leading protagonist of London’s contemporary street art culture, Jim’s talent has taken him all across the globe, from Buenos Aires to Tahiti, Miami to Mexico.
We have thoroughly enjoyed watching Jim’s vibrant vision come to life. We cannot wait to reveal his incredible work and exciting products to you. Exciting things are coming: 01.09.21.
